For Christmas last year, I decided to spoil myself. I bought a good amount of comics, manga and one thing that I'd been wanting for awhile. A Gundam model.
I had been skeptical to get it before because of the price tag. Something I wish to not share with everyone because a certain person (*coughFilcough*) will look at me and say "Gaby! I've told you before to stop spending your money at that place." She's like my mother sometime.
So I bought this model and with excitement began to work on it the day after Christmas. That excitement soon turned to frustration. The little plastic pieces were hard to keep together on some parts and the head of the Gundam was no cake walk to put together. Soon after starting I realized I was going to need more than just my hands. I searched for something to cut the pieces out of the grids holding them together. The problem was solved when I found a pair of scissors. With the solving of that problem, another one arose. Some of the pieces would not stay in place unless I got glue or something to keep them there. I did not have any glue around to help with that and I knew I couldn't use just regular old glue. After getting the head and some of the torso together I gave up.

Last week as I moved my things into my brothers old room, I dug out from under my bed the Gundam model. Not wanting to feel like I spent all the money for nothing, I got back to work on it. This time I had super glue on hand to keep some of the pieces that wouldn't snap into place together. I still didn't have something to cut the pieces out with so I carefully snapped them out of their grid. I tried to be as careful as I could, but soon I became careless. That resulted in snapping one of the pieces in half. After cussing myself out for being stupid, I did my best to super glue the pieces back together, hoping it wouldn't ruing the model too much.

After what seemed like hours, the head and torso were snapped together along with the shoulder pieces and the arms. As you can see from the picture above, I got quite a bit done within the 2 days I managed to slip some time in to do it. It's still sitting in my room waiting to be finished. I have more motivation to do so, but I just haven't found the time. I'm not giving up thought. This time I won't wait months to get to work on it.
